Isla Murada  / Murada Island:

Travelling distance: 5 minutes with cutter

Murada Island is our " House " Reef only 5 min. from the diving center. This location offers most everything that can be expected from a good Mediterranean diving area. The northern part of the island is perforated with many tunnels and small caves at depths of 10-15 m, where crayfish and shrimp can be observed during the Spring season. After a rapid decent to 25-30 m where toothed groupers can be seen after the month of June. In the Fall when young fish build their schools, can bee seen hunting barracudas and greater amberjack. The maximum depth is 40 m. South of the island the sea bed is maximum 30 m and scattered with large boulders. Snails, octopus and moray eels are generally always seen.

Conger Wrack / Conger Wreck:

Travelling distance: 5 minutes with cutter

During the 19th century a freighter ran aground near Isla Caldes and after floating free sank in the Bay of San Miguel. This wreck is now located at 40 m depth burried in sand so that only the top deck can be seen. But under deck there are many gangways where conger eels and moray eels are waiting to view intruders. Huge scorpion fish are resting under the anchor winches. Swarms of striped mullets are skirting along the sandy seafloor. With some luck Ocean sunfish may even be seen enjoying their barber hour.

A small underwater mountain range not far from the coast, which drops from 15 to 33 m depth. Many mussels can be seen in a small valley at 25 m depth. The steep slope on the sea side is a favorite resting place for lobster and precious coral formation. Above the peaks barracudas can be seen. The seabed towards the ocean side is more level so that anemone with their tennants, the spider crab and shrimp are indigiaous.

Caldes / Island Caldes

Travelling distance: 20 minutes with cutter

An extensive shallow diving area, which gradually drops from 15 m down to 20 m. This is the location where the "Conger Wreck" ran aground at the increditabbe depth of 0,8 m as seen by traces of the freighters hull.
Here is an interesting underwater landcape with small caves and tunnels ideal for all underwater makrophoto enthusiasts. Many varieties of snails, blennies and scorpion fish as well as octopus are at home. One can quickly forget time especially in June when the octopus are mateing.

Cap Rubio / Cape Robio:

Travelling distance: 30 minutes with cutter

This cape falls down almost straight to 48 m where one finds red precious coral formation and naturally lobster. The beautiful formation accompanied by swarms of red perch offers a magnifficent background making this dive really worthwhile. Frequently the dive starts at a shallow spot at the corner of the cape where the range is 10 m below the surface after starting at a depth of 25 m. One finds many types of anemones, which houses many marine creatures such as the anemone gobies, spider crabs ect.

Cap Eubarca:

Travelling distance: 50 minutes with cutter/ speedboot 10 min.

This cape descends as Cape Rubio steeply to 35 m and after a 10 m wide level area further down to 50 m. Interesting here are the 3 larger caves. The first is more a cleft 28 m high and 15 m wide goes 50 m deep into the rock wall. One cannot miss it when diving. One should, however pay attention that at the end it is very narrow. The second cave is a 15 m in diameter cave at a depth of 15 m offering the possibility to enter a smaller cave with cavern on the surface. The third cave has a very small entranc, which leads to a hall of 5 m diameter at 15 m depth. A cleft supposedly leads to a cathedral. This I was not yet able to investigate. This cave is only accessible when divers have special knowledge. All caves offer during the Spring season crayfish, sea spiders and shrimp.

Lichthöhle & Herkulessäulen:

Luminous Cave & Hercules Column:

Travelling distance: 40 minutes with cutter/ speedboot 8 min.

Both diving areas are close to each other so that it is possibile to visit both on one dive. The Hercules column is a cave in the shallow region. Moreso a huge eroded cavern with large columns supporting the cavern roof. At a depth of 5-10 m there is sufficient time to observe the marin life. At the proper time of day it is a feast for the eyes for all under water photographers. The luminous cave hidden behind a rock wall is a cavity with a breach in the roof allowing sunlight to enter. In the Spring time rock lobster, conger eels, shrimp and spider crabs can be viewed. The large entrance of 15 x 10 m offers for most a special diving experience.
